Organic Road Certified Organic Buckwheat Flour is, despite its name, not related to wheat at all in fact it is not even a grain! It’s actually a fruit seed closely related to wild rhubarb. Buckwheat flour is a delicious alternative to wheat flour and is gluten free.

The buckwheat kernel sometimes referred to as a pseudo cereal is milled to produce a nutty flavoured flour. It is denser than regular whole flours, so it is generally not recommended for bread making unless you mix half and half with another wheat-free flour.
